Recommendations for Executive Actions on Immigration Relief

UnidosUS advocates for executive actions by the Biden administration to address congressional inaction on immigration.

Our memorandum emphasizes the urgent need to protect Dreamers and long-settled undocumented immigrants. The proposed measures include using advanced parole for DACA recipients to transition to a green card, establishing an affirmative process for cancellation of removal, resolving the provisional waiver backlog, expanding parole in place for spouses of U.S. citizens and utilizing Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for stable deportation protection.

Additionally, we highlight the critical importance of funding community-based immigration legal services and providing adequate resources to USCIS and the immigration court system for successful implementation. These actions align with widespread American support and fulfill the President’s commitment to the Latino community, despite congressional obstacles.
