UnidosUS may collect personal information in the following ways:  

• UnidosUS collects personal information when you subscribe to our email or SMS alerts. This information includes your name, address, telephone number and email address. This registration information is also used to allow you to sign in and download publications free of charge. 

• UnidosUS collects personal information when you make a donation to the organization and complete our online donation form. This information includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, and payment information. 

• UnidosUS collects personal information when you purchase publications online. This information includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, and payment information. You also supply your email address when you contact our Publications Department through the link on our publications page. 

• UnidosUS collects personal information when you provide personal information (name, address, email address, and telephone number) to Democracy in Action when you sign into our Action Network. Democracy in Action maintains a database accessible by UnidosUS for use in its educational and advocacy activities. 

• UnidosUS collects personal information when you provide your comments to us via our Feedback feature. This information includes your name, email address, organization, position or title, and any other information you choose to provide. From time to time UnidosUS solicits opinions from visitors to its site on specific topics. 

• UnidosUS collects personal information when you log into our Affiliate-only password-protected section and you provide personal information in the form of an email address and password. 

• UnidosUS also automatically collects information relating to your interactions with us and our Site, including browser type, IP address, pages visited and other activities on the Site, device type, and time and date of visit, and other information we collect through the use of cookies and similar technology. Digital Advertising & Analytics 

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Some parts of this Site may be password-protected. We may use a cookie (cookies reside on your computer and are under the control of your browser) to help us remember and process items that you purchase through this Site; and/or to compile aggregate data about visitors to the Site and their interaction with the Site for the purposes of improving the operation of the Site and/or offering better Site experiences and tools in the future. Although UnidosUS takes reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access to and maintain the accuracy of data and information about you, no information transferred over the Internet is 100% secure. UnidosUS cannot guarantee the total security of information transmitted to us. 

Your California Privacy Rights  

We may make personal information about you available to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If you are a California resident, you may opt out of certain data sharing with third parties for direct marketing purposes. To request to opt out, please contact us at [email protected]. 

If you exercise this opt-out, we will not disclose personal information about you to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. We may otherwise share information about you with third parties as disclosed in this Policy. 

Your Choices 

To opt out of our email marketing, you can use the link provided at the bottom of each marketing message. If you opt out of our email marketing, we will still send you messages related to our transactions and relationship with you, such as order confirmations. 

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any text we send. If you opt out, you will no longer receive any text messages from us. No mobile information will be shared or sold with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. This includes text messaging originator opt-in data and data associated with your consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
