Addressing COVID-19 Vaccines Misinformation Directed at the Latino Community
The COVID-19 vaccines are our best hope for ending the pandemic. But each day the Latino community is bombarded with misinformation related to the COVID-19 vaccines on social media and other online platforms. This has led to a measurable and concerning distrust of the vaccines among many in our community.
As part of our Esperanza Hope for All campaign, UnidosUS is launching a Misinformation Initiative to increase awareness and education among Latinos, about accurate vaccine information and engagement. Our presentation shares the latest findings from our social media audit and listening exercise to identify the emerging topics, culprits, and sources of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation targeting Latinos. We also presented resources we developed to combat misinformation and to help individuals leverage their power as trusted influencers within our communities.
