UnidosUS Hosts Latinas Brunch to Honor Women’s Roles as Leaders

August 3, 2019

SAN DIEGO—On Sunday, August 4, UnidosUS (formerly NCLR) President and CEO Janet Murguía Board Chair Maria Salinas will welcome influential women to address participants at this year’s Latinas Brunch, one of the main events of the 2019 UnidosUS Annual Conference in San Diego. The inspirational gathering will focus on the ways that Latinas can break the glass ceiling and create positive change in their communities. Featured speakers include trailblazing women such as Nicole Taylor, President and CEO, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Gloria Calderón Kellett, writer and executive producer of One Day at a Time, and artist and filmmaker Paola Mendoza. The program also includes a live performance from Mariachi Las Alteñas, an all-female mariachi group from Texas.

The UnidosUS Annual Conference is a gathering of the organization’s national Affiliate Network of nearly 300 community-based organizations that provide a diverse range of key services to millions of Latinos across the country. The Conference is also the largest event of its kind in the Latino community and includes thousands of people representing community organizations, nonprofits, government, corporations and academic institutions.

The Latinas Brunch is co-sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb, The Coca-Cola Company, CVS Health, Hilton Worldwide and Wells Fargo.
