Yzaguirre to Step Down as NCLR President and CEO; Murguía Named as His Sucessor

The Board of Directors of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) announced today that, after 30 years as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Raul Yzaguirre will retire as head of NCLR, effective December 31, 2004.

The Board also announced that in a unanimous vote, it selected NCLR Executive Director and COO Janet Murguía to succeed Yzaguirre as NCLR’s President and CEO, effective January 1, 2005.
