Congressional Letter

In letters to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees, UnidosUS urged top congressional appropriators to provide robust funding for federal programs that would empower Hispanic communities and help bridge racial disparities.

The letters identify key programs that would:

  • Improve the nutritional health of children
  • Reduce immigration backlogs and facilitate the naturalization process for immigrants
  • Promote economic development in under-resourced communities
  • Expand access to affordable internet
  • Promote vaccine equity
  • Expand resources for students with limited English proficiency
  • Make college more attainable
  • Protect renters and homeowners facing economic hardships

By providing strong funding for the programs noted below, Congress has the opportunity to address long-standing inequities and create a more inclusive and prosperous future for Latino communities across the United States.
