Letter From Latino Civil Rights Groups Ahead of State of the Union Urging President Biden to Act on Immigration Reforms
On February 24, 2022, UnidosUS, together with its sister Latino Civil Rights organizations, wrote President Biden urging action on immigration reforms this year.
The letter comes ahead of Mr. Biden’s State of the Union address, and sets the expectation that the Biden Administration move forward alone to protect our communities should Congress fail to deliver legislative solutions. In their recommendations for administrative reforms, the groups center protections from deportation for long-time undocumented Americans, that, critically, also provide them the opportunity to live and work lawfully in our great country.
