Latino Non-Standard Work Arrangements in 2018: A Snapshot of the Federal Reserve Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking (SHED)

One of the many issue areas addressed by the survey is involvement in non-standard work arrangements, including independent contract work and work in the “gig economy.”

Participation in independent contract work and in the gig economy is a critical issue for Latinos–many of whom struggle to make ends meet each month. Using data from the 2018 SHED survey, this fact sheet examines Latino engagement and motivating forces in the gig economy.
