The American education system is often portrayed as a pipeline, successfully transporting individuals from childhood to college or full participation in the world of work.

However, it is becoming increasingly clear that this pipeline more closely resembles a sieve where Hispanic children are concerned. This report is designed to provide an overview of the educational status of Hispanics and note the implications of some of the data for education policymakers.
