Latino Jobs Report: Latino Unemployment Goes Down to 5.9%

Fact Sheet

The October 2021 jobs report showed that the economy added 531,000 jobs, with a slight decrease in unemployment rate that stands at 4.6%.

The Latino unemployment rate edged down to 5.9%, but still lags the national unemployment rate and the white unemployment rate (4%). The modest increase in unemployment rate is welcome news, although Latinos remain economically behind where they were before the pandemic, highlighting the need for inclusive and equitable policy actions that include Latino workers and their families.
