Advanced Child Tax Credit: Social Media Toolkit
The 2021 expanded Child Tax Credit has been shown to be the most effective way to reduce child poverty in the U.S.
In 2021, the one-year CTC expansion included in the American Rescue Plan Act helped to lift 5.3 million people out of poverty, including 2.9 million children. Latino and Black children experienced the greatest benefits from the expanded CTC, as it reduced the poverty rate from 29.1% to 8.4% and 25.2% to 8.3%, respectively.
Use this social media toolkit to help showcase the impact of the Child Tax Credit for all children, and advocate for Congress to include an expansion of the Child Tax Credit in any year-end legislation.
