Realignment, Unalignment or Swing? A Closer Look at Hispanic Independent, Undecided and Crossover Voters
This UnidosUS analysis, in collaboration with BSP Research, identifies a “moveable middle” within the Hispanic electorate, voters who are undecided, independent or crossed party lines in 2024. This group makes up roughly 38% of Hispanic voters and has a significant presence in 12 of the 37 competitive U.S. House districts that will decide control of Congress.
Drawing on the UnidosUS Bipartisan Poll of Hispanic Voters: The Road to the 2026 Midterms, the analysis finds this group is anxious about the economy, skeptical that either party is delivering for working families, and less likely than Hispanic voters overall to hear from candidates.
