Latinos have been a part of the United States since our country’s founding, and as one of the fastest-growing segments of the population, they will play a significant role in shaping its future. Data from the 2010 Census show that, over the last decade, the Latino population grew from 35.3 million to 50.5 million, accounting for more than half of the nation’s growth since the 2000 Census.
