The July 2021 jobs report showed the economy added 943,000 jobs, marking the second month of strong job growth.
The hospitality and leisure sector drove much of the job creation, a trend that has been consistent for several months.
Latino unemployment is down to 6.6%. Although this month’s job report showed improvements, Latinos are still far behind where they were pre-pandemic and faring worse than other worker groups. These ongoing disparities highlight the need for bold policy action inclusive of Latinos, immigrants, and undocumented workers to ensure a full and equitable recovery.
