Special Advance Fact Sheet: Deaths of People of Color By Law Enforcement Are Severely Under-Counted
This Special Advance Fact Sheet outlines preliminary findings of the research conducted by the Raza Database Project, which investigates a long-suspected undercount of the number of deaths of Latinos and individuals of color by or while in the custody of police.
The release of this report coincides with ongoing calls for federal legislative reform to address the epidemic of police violence, namely the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
