UnidosUS Joins GWU to Train Advocates Ahead of 2018 Elections In Kickoff to Midterm Civic Engagement Efforts

WASHINGTON, D.C.—UnidosUS (formerly NCLR) and the Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) at The George Washington University (GWU) will welcome community leaders from the UnidosUS Affiliate Network and experts in the field of political management for a two-day workshop titled “Taking it to the Ballot Box: Winning Strategies for the 2018 Election Cycle.”

The event—taking place October 27-28—will equip participants with the advocacy skills needed to cultivate political power in our community and successfully mobilize Latino turnout. With the 2018 midterm elections fast approaching, the program will provide local leaders and experts an opportunity to glean from proven tactics and strategies that can address challenges to Latino civic participation and ensure that the voice of the Latino community is heard at the ballot box. Nearly 50 participants representing 25 UnidosUS Affiliate organizations from across the country are expected to participate.

Media can attend specific events during the training and should RSVP to Gabriela Gomez at [email protected] or (202) 776-1732.
