UnidosUS Roundtable to Highlight Youth Voices, Spur Continued Activism
Washington, DC—UnidosUS (formerly NCLR) will bring together young Latino students and community members for an afternoon roundtable event next Wednesday, May 2, at Sociedad Latina. UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía will host the roundtable, which aims to provide young Latinos a platform to speak out on issues they feel passionate about and the barriers many face in the current climate.
The event seeks to create a space where young Latinos can engage and exchange ideas and opinions on topics that are top of mind, and the steps we can take to empower and encourage youth to be changemakers in their community. The roundtable will also lift up UnidosUS’s recently-launched voter campaign, Power of 18, and the opportunity Latino youth have to be activists and advocates in this election year—either by casting a ballot for the first time or helping mobilize their peers, family members and community to get registered and vote.
Interested media should RSVP to Gabriela Gomez at [email protected] or (202) 776-1732.
