
Stan Dorn
Stan Dorn is the director of the Health Policy Project at UnidosUS. He oversees the organization’s policy and advocacy efforts related to health programs like Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as well as nutrition security programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), free and reduced-cost school meals and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
Stan has worked on health issues affecting low-income communities since the mid-1980s. He directed the National Center for Coverage Innovation at Families USA, served as a senior fellow at the Urban Institute’s Health Policy Center, led the health division at the Children’s Defense Fund and held multiple roles at the National Health Law Program, including managing the organization’s Washington office.
Stan received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He lives in Montgomery County, Maryland, with his wife and several puzzled cats, now that his two adult children have flown the coop.
