WASHINGTON, DC—Today, UnidosUS (formerly NCLR) welcomes four new community-based groups to its national Affiliate Network of nearly 300 member organizations that champion Latinos throughout the United States. Among the new Affiliates are Corporación Desarrollo Económico Vivienda y Salud (CODEVyS), Inc. in Puerto Rico; Global Empowerment Development Corporation, Inc. in Florida; La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) in Texas and Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas in Austin.
“It is important to recognize the leadership role of Latino-serving organizations across the country and how their presence expands opportunities and strengthens communities, especially in these challenging times,” said UnidosUS COO Sonia Pérez. “The UnidosUS-Affiliate partnership is integral to our efforts and to advancing our mission, and we are honored to welcome these new partners from diverse Latino communities across the United States, whose devotion and expertise will enhance our capacity to meet the needs of Latino families and better their lives.”
UnidosUS’s Affiliates provide essential programs and services to millions of Hispanic Americans and use their knowledge to elevate the voices of our community on important issues facing the community. Through their work, these nonprofits offer financial education and counseling; help families buy and stay in their homes; provide social services; advocate for policies that support the well-being of Latino communities and promote public and civic participation.
