UnidosUS Comment on Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) Fee Review
UnidosUS submitted a comment letter opposing the Department of Justice’s proposed changes to the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) fee schedule associated with filings for appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). The sudden hike in unreasonable and disproportionate fee levels – the highest of which is nearly 800% – are a direct contradiction to our shared value of due process.
The proposed fee changes would frustrate our nation’s immigrant integration goals, undermine the integrity of our legal immigration system, and threaten to inflict significant harm on our communities. Moreover, as we have argued before, the Trump Administration is deploying all regulatory and administrative tools at its disposal to reimagine and reshape the face of the nation to fit a retrograde vision of America.
