Educating English Language Learners Implementing Instructional Practices
This publication is part of a series developed to inform and assist charter
schools serving English language learners. This guide is based, in part, on
presentations and workshops designed to answer technical assistance requests
from the National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR) educational affiliates, charter
schools, and charter school allies. The inclusion of ELLs in the assessment
and accountability required by the No Child Left Behind Act (2002)
underscores the importance of high-quality instruction for ELLs.
