UnidosUS Announces New Member of External Affairs Leadership Team

WASHINGTON, DC— UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and social justice organization, is proud to announce the newest addition to its Leadership Team. Will Villota joins the organization as the new Vice President of Communications and Marketing. In his role, Villota will lead strategies for integrated communications campaigns in support of  UnidosUS’s strategic priorities, overseeing the Editorial Content, Digital Marketing, and Brand and Design functions.

Shaping an accurate picture of our community’s contributions, potential and power is essential to expanding opportunities for the one in five Americans who are Latino – especially at this critical juncture for our nation, said Sonia M. Pérez, Chief Operating Officer. We are proud to attract experienced talent that share our vision of a strong America, where advancement is a reality for all and our community’s contributions are recognized.

Will brings 30 years of experience in multi-sector marketing and communications, including 15 years in the nonprofit sector, focusing on economic mobility, gun violence prevention and environmental conservation and was most recently Vice President, Communications & Marketing at Opportunity@Work. Most recently, he led the development of a national narrative change campaign with the Ad Council to elevate the skills of workers who do not have a bachelor’s degree, a population that includes 55% of Hispanic workers in the United States.

“I’m thrilled to be joining an organization where I can help advocate for the rights, respect and dignity of the Hispanic community in the U.S.,” said Villota. “As we look toward 2024 and beyond, I hope to use my experience and the talented team at UnidosUS to shape our narrative and inspire action on social, economic and political barriers at the national and local levels.”
