Countdown to UnidosUS 2019 Annual Conference and National Latino Family Expo® Begins San Diego to Host Largest Gathering of Latino Leaders, Democratic Presidential Candidates

Weekend will be full of fun family activities, entertainment and captivating speakers

SAN DIEGO, CA—UnidosUS (formerly NCLR) will host its 2019 Annual Conference and National Family Latino Expo® this year in San Diego, California. The event is the largest gathering of its kind in the Hispanic community and serves as the meeting ground for thousands of community leaders and advocates; elected and appointed officials; members of the corporate, philanthropic, and academic communities; college students and youth. This year’s Conference is sponsored by Toyota and will be held August 3-6 at the San Diego Convention Center with the theme: Transform. Influence. Lead.

Three days of more than 25 workshops, exciting keynote speakers, presidential candidates, informative plenary sessions and inspiring remarks from leading experts across several fields are at the center of a Conference experience that seeks to inform and empower our community and spotlight the integral role of Latinos politically, economically and socially.

Among the exciting line-up of diverse speakers include Anthony Romero, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU); Nicole Taylor, President and CEO, Silicon Valley Community Foundation; Gloria Calderón Kellett, writer and executive producer of One Day At A Time, among many others. Additionally, UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía will deliver her annual address and share her vision of how to advance critical issues pertaining to the Latino community.

The conference will also feature the participation of Democratic presidential candidates, and they will have an opportunity to connect with one of the nation’s most critical voting blocs—Latinos. Participants will be able to hear independently from each candidate about their views on a range of issues.

Complementing this year’s Annual Conference, is the National Latino Family Expo®, sponsored by UPS, which runs August 3-4, and is free and open to the public. The Expo is a unique and engaging annual family-friendly event focused on providing access to necessary resources and services including free health screenings, live entertainment and giveaways.
