UnidosUS Changemakers Summit Brings Together Latino Community Advocates and Experts

UnidosUS will release its Policy Agenda for 116th Congress

Washington, D.C. – On Monday, March 25 through Wednesday, March 27, UnidosUS will host its Changemakers Summit in Washington, D.C, bringing together hundreds of aspiring activists and community leaders from across the country who are committed to advocating for equity and greater opportunity for Latinos.

The summit will feature remarks from UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía, El Mirage, Arizona Mayor Alexis Hermosillo, as well as a panel discussion regarding the official release of UnidosUS’s policy guide for members of Congress titled “Stronger Communities, Stronger America: A Latino Policy Agenda for the 116th Congress.” The publication details the policies that should be the priority of federal lawmakers across civil rights, criminal justice, economic security, education, health and well-being, and immigration issues.

The Latino community has made notable gains across key indicators including health, education, and the economy. Yet harmful policies and regulations issued under the Trump administration threaten to reverse this progress and widen inequities. The UnidosUS Changemakers Summit will lay out how advocacy efforts on critical issues can ensure meaningful change. The summit will be held at the Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University on March 25-26. On March 27, youth advocates and leaders from across the country will visit their members of Congress to advocate for their communities.

The UnidosUS Changemakers Summit is made possible by the generous support of our partners including AT&T, FedEx, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Mastercard, and Raza Development Fund.
