Creating Strong and Sustainable Programs to Increase Food Security

More than 62 million Latinos live and work in the United States, contributing $2.7 trillion to the economy. Yet Latinos, and other communities of color, are disproportionately impacted by food insecurity. According to the latest census, one in six Latinos live in poverty, a root cause of hunger and food insecurity. Community-based organizations play a vital role in increasing food access and offering critical services in local communities. These organizations along with coalition building and partnerships create a strong and better community.

Join us for the second part of a two-part webinar series aimed to showcase experiences and lessons learned from UnidosUS’s Comprando Rico y Sano sub grantees on community-based solutions to reduce food insecurity. Panelists will discuss the importance of coalition building and collaborations that have helped in leveraging additional resources to strengthen and sustain Comprando Rico y Sano.
