Four of the Nation’s Largest Latino Organizations Unite to Launch Unprecedented 2026 Voter Education and Mobilization Effort

WASHINGTON — Today, four of the most influential Latino civic organizations in the country announced the 2026 Latino Civic Engagement Coalition — a landmark, nonpartisan partnership to educate and mobilize the fastest-growing segment of the American electorate from now through 2028. For the first time, UnidosUS, LULAC Institute, Inc., Mi Familia En Acción and Latino Victory Foundation will coordinate a unified strategy to reach millions of Latino voters, earlier than previous efforts.  

The coalition launches one joint strategy, with the bold ambition of directly contacting more than 5 million Latino voters and registering 250,000 new voters. It is redefining how Hispanic voters are engaged — earlier, more personal and closer to the community than ever before. The Latino electorate is a decisive force that demands serious and sustained investment, not last-minute attention prior to each election day.  

Here are the facts:  

  • Latinos are 20% of the people in the United States, more than 68 million strong. 
  • 8 out of 10 Latinos are U.S. citizens. 
  • Latinos are the second-largest voting population, as well as the fastest-growing and most influential voting demographic group in the country. 
  • More than one million Hispanic citizens turn 18 every year. 
  • Together, we generate $4.1 trillion in economic output, larger than all but the four largest economies in the world. 

With 36.2 million Latinos now eligible to vote, the stakes have never been higher. In 2026, the Latino electorate will help decide the outcome of races in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, along with countless state and local offices — where decisions are made that shape the daily lives of Latino families. Yet for decades, nonpartisan Hispanic civic engagement has been chronically underfunded and treated as an afterthought. This coalition is built to change that. 

“Despite their key role in this election, most Latino voters have not heard from any candidate or party about the midterms. This lack of outreach was confirmed by a recent UnidosUS poll, which showed that 53% of Hispanic voters who voted in the Texas primary had not been contacted,” said Janet Murguía, President and CEO of UnidosUS. “UnidosUS is proud to partner with the LULAC Institute, Mi Familia En Acción and Latino Victory Foundation on this effort. Together, we’re committed to expanding voter education and registration so every eligible Latino citizen can make their voice heard.”

Our participation is not a courtesy to be sought every other November; it is the foundation on which representative government stands. For the first time, the nation’s largest Latino organizations are building civic infrastructure together: investing in long-term capacity, elevating trusted voices in our own neighborhoods, and engaging our community not for one election, but for generations.”  

“Latinos are reshaping the future of America, yet too many eligible Latino voters continue to face barriers that keep them from fully participating in our democracy. We cannot accept a system where millions of voices are left unheard,” said Hector Sanchez Barba, President and CEO of Mi Familia en Acción. “This coalition is a commitment to organizing, educating and mobilizing our communities at a scale that matches our growing influence. By investing in voter registration, trusted messengers, and year-round engagement, we are building the political power necessary to defend our rights, expand representation and ensure Latino communities have a decisive voice in the decisions that shape our country’s future.”  

“Engaging Latino voters in our democratic process is essential to building a stronger future for our communities and increasing Latino representation at every level,” said Katharine Pichardo, President and CEO of Latino Victory Foundation. “Year-round engagement, meeting voters where they are and listening to the issues that matter most to them is critical to increasing participation in our democracy. Nevertheless, reaching and mobilizing a voting bloc of over 36 million is a daunting task. It requires collaboration and a diversified approach — and it requires all hands on deck. This is why Latino Victory Foundation is proud to partner with UnidosUS, Mi Familia en Acción, and LULAC Institute, Inc. among other groups, as part of our voter mobilization efforts and our work to empower the Latino community.”  

Our coalition has committed to concrete, measurable goals from now through 2028: 

  • Directly contact more than 5 million Latino voters with trusted voter information and mobilization messaging. 
  • Conduct 3.5 million doorknocks and one-on-one conversations. 
  • Register 250,000 new voters. 
  • Increase Latino voter turnout by at least 5%. 
  • The collaboration will reach Latino communities in more than 40 states, with significant investments in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas, given their large and growing Hispanic population. 

The coalition’s nonpartisan strategy will focus on educating and informing our Latino community on affordability and the other top issues impacting their day-to-day lives, as well as their right to vote.
