Department of Homeland Security officials have been directed to stop using the term “illegal alien” in internal and external communications about people who are not U.S. citizens. Similarly, the word “assimilation” is being replaced with the word “integration.”
Democrats and Biden Prepare to Unveil Bill that Would Provide a Pathway to Citizenship for Undocumented Immigrants
The U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 would create a pathway to citizenship for the roughly 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Congressional Democrats are hoping to introduce the legislation before April 1, to be able to send it directly to the Senate floor for consideration.
A Last-Minute Deal Between a Trump Official and ICE’s Union to Hamper Biden’s Policies has Been Rejected
Ken Cuccinelli, the former acting deputy secretary in the Department of Homeland Security, according to a whistleblower, gave the ICE union broad powers to reject any changes in immigration policy made by President Biden. This alleged agreement was put on notice by DHS, saying that it is, “not in accordance with applicable law.”
