10 immigrants released from detention because of the Coronavirus

Advocates have continued to urge that ICE take steps to reduce the number of people in detention in order to reduce the spread of the virus.

Immigrant advocates sue the federal government over in-person hearings

The American Immigration Lawyer’s Association has sued the federal government over the continued practice of in-person hearings for immigration cases. As states throughout the country have issued stay-at-home orders, thousands of immigrants continue to have their cases heard in person. Advocates argue that this poses a real risk to the health and safety of communities across the country.
