No coronavirus posters in immigration courts

This week, as the coronavirus continues to spread and dominate news worldwide, immigration court staff were ordered by the Trump administration to take down all posters about the coronavirus from courtrooms and waiting areas. The only reason given was that the CDC flyer was not approved for use in immigration courts.
Supreme Court reviews fast-track deportations
The Trump administration seeks to increase deportations without judges.
This week, the Supreme Court heard arguments on whether the Trump administration’s policy of “fast-tracking” the deportations of asylum-seekers is unconstitutional. While a 2004 policy allows immigrants who are detained within 100 miles of the U.S. border to be deported without seeing a judge, the Trump administration is seeking to expand this policy to include undocumented immigrants within the entire country who have been in the United States for up to two years.
Some asylum seekers to wait in El Salvador
U.S. officials work with El Salvador to send asylum seekers to the country.
This week, officials from the Trump administration met with El Salvador’s president to discuss details of a program that would return asylum-seekers, some of whom are not even from El Salvador, to the Central American country. Advocates point out that this will force migrants fleeing a dangerous situation to a country where violent crime is common.
