It’s Time to Get Those Noses On!
Red Nose Day is almost here! But you don’t have to wait for May 25 to do your part to put an end to child poverty. Last week, we shared a story about how Red Nose Day’s support of NCLR has helped us connect Yesenia Chavez with affordable dental services in her home town. Through our Healthy and Ready for the Future campaign, and with Red Nose Day’s support, we’ve made more than 18,500 referrals. And more than 7,300 children received dental services.
We’re glad to have the support and we know that thousands of kids will have bigger and brighter smiles thanks to having access to a dentist.
As we gear up for this year’s event on May 25, we thought we would share a few ways to get involved in all the Red Nose Day fun! There are several ways you can participate, but here are three easy ways to start showing your support:
- Buy a red nose at any Walgreens. From now until May 25, you can help stop child poverty by purchasing a big Red Nose for only $1. The proceeds from red nose sales go directly to supporting charities like NCLR’s. This is a cheap, easy, and fun way to show your support for NCLR and Red Nose Day. Once you have your Red Nose on, make sure you snap a selfie and post it to your social media using #NosesOn to make sure your photo becomes part of the Red Nose Day conversations!
- Start a fun-raiser. Red Nose Day is all about uniting the country toward the goal of ending child poverty. By coming together and wearing our Red Noses, we raise money and awareness to meet that goal. You can follow this link to get some ideas for starting your own fundraisers. You can even raise money through your own Facebook page. Let’s get our Noses On to raise money at work, school, and at home!
- Watch the Red Nose Day Special. Finally, you can participate in the fun by gathering your family and friends to watch The Red Nose Day Special on May 25, 8 p.m. ET, only on NBC! When you watch the special, you’ll be able to donate during the event. When you do, you’ll be contributing to the more than $1 billion that Red Nose Day has been able to raise over the last 25 years.
We hope you’re able to join in on the fun any way you’re able to. Remember: “Noses On” is a movement by Red Nose Day, uniting the country to end child poverty by coming together and wearing the Red Nose with pride. Let’s come together to end child poverty, one nose at a time.
