How the Trump Presidency is Making Latinos Feel After 100 Days in Office

As we close in on Donald Trump’s 100th day as president, we wanted to hear from our Action Network about how they thought the president was doing so far. So, we asked them to describe in one word how they have felt about Mr. Trump’s time in office.

The response was overwhelming.

More than 1,400 people responded via text to let us know the affect the president has had on Latinos and their families. As you can see from the word cloud, the community has some severe reservations about the president’s term so far. Considering what the president has prioritized these first 100 days, it may not be hard to see why the top three words used were “disgusted,” “scared,” and “disappointed.” He has been zealous about executing his harsh immigration agenda. He has not given up on repealing the Affordable Care Act, which would undermine the significant gains Latinos have made in obtaining health coverage. And, he continues to push for erecting his deeply unpopular border wall.

As the 100-day mark comes and goes, we sincerely hope the administration sees this as a wake-up call. Our community is listening and watching, and we are resolved to #ProtectAndDefend the gains and successes we have achieved.
