Gratitude for Donors who Make Change Possible

Happy 2024! The New Year is a special time to reflect on the successes of the past year and look forward to new opportunities. As dedicated supporters of UnidosUS, you have contributed immeasurably to our achievements this past year, and I want to share a few highlights that you made possible in 2023:

  • HOME Initiative launch: Our Home Ownership Means Equity initiative’s goal is to achieve systemic change and create 4 million new Latino homeowners by 2030. Through cross-sector partnerships and a comprehensive strategy, we are addressing the challenges that Latinos face when trying to buy a home at both the community and policy levels.
  • Historic federal appointments for Latinas: In our continued efforts as part of the Proyecto 20% coalition – which works to ensure that 20% of political appointments are filled with qualified Hispanics to be representative of our proportion of the total U.S. population – we saw multiple historic confirmations in 2023. Dr. Adriana Kugler, former Chief Economist at the Department of Labor, became the first Hispanic governor on the Federal Reserve Board. Xochitl Torres Small, former Under Secretary for Rural Development, became the first Latina to serve as Deputy Secretary of the USDA.

  • A seat at the table at the country’s first AI Insight Forum: On behalf of UnidosUS, I joined Sen. Chuck Schumer and tech leaders at this historic forum to discuss AI. The session was an important first step in ensuring that voices that have historically been left out of these conversations are heard from the start.

We could not have accomplished these milestones without you! Thank you for believing and investing in UnidosUS.

We know the only constant in life is change. While 2024 will surely bring new challenges and opportunities for all of us, including an important election, with you at our side, we know we can face whatever comes our way with hope and resilience and continue to make historic positive change for our community and the country!
