Recommendations to the House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor on Reauthorization

As the federal government takes its first steps towards reauthorizing the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), NCLR and other advocates submitted their suggestions and priorities for education reform to the House. This document outlines NCLR’s recommendations for how academic assessments and accommodations, accountability, graduation rates, school improvement, public reporting and parental involvement, early childhood education, and family literacy could be addressed in the new bill to better address the needs of Latino students and their families.
