Latinos have had long standing challenges connecting to mainstream financial institutions. Since the initial FDIC survey was released in 2009, Latinos have had excessively high rates of unbanked and underbanked households. Using data from the 2017 national survey, this fact sheet examines the banking status, account access methods, credit access, and methods for conducting financial transactions among Latino and White households.
