In the absence of comprehensive data on nutritional status in the United States, hunger trends can be understood in the context of poverty trends. These trends reveal that Hispanics, one of the nation’s most diverse and fastest-growing populations, are disproportionately poor and are therefore likely to suffer from malnutrition.
