The Hispanic Elderly: The Community’s Response
Through case study analysis of eight Hispanic-run programs serving the Hispanic elderly in seven states, including focus group sessions with program administrators and elderly clients, the Council has attempted to learn about the human service needs of the Hispanic elderly and about the kinds of community-based program models which appear effective in helping to meet these needs.
In addition, the Council reviewed state-level statistics on the Hispanic elderly in the seven states visited, in order to better understand their socioeconomic status and identify similarities and differences across states.
