Monthly Latino Employment Report The Federal Minimum Wage
Given recent momentum and local victories around the minimum wage, this month’s Monthly Latino Employment Report revisits the need to raise the federal minimum wage. Latinos would benefit disproportionately from an increase in the federal minimum wage because of their overrepresentation in low-wage occupations. Nearly one-quarter of the 27.8 million workers who would be directly affected by the Fair Minimum Wage Act are Latino.
