UnidosUS Joins National English Learner Roundtable Members in Demanding Congressional Oversight to Restore the USED Office that Serves the Nation’s 5.3 Million English Learners

Letter

Empty classroom with papers and pencils left on desks.

The letter from 17 members of the National English Learner Roundtable to the House and Senate education committees expresses deep concern over how the recent reduction in force at the U.S. Department of Education, as well as the Department’s stated intention to reorganize certain offices and functions, will negatively impact the education of the nation’s 5.3 million English learners (ELs).

It demands prompt oversight and intervention to reverse the Department’s actions.
