Social Security, Hispanic Americans, & Proposed Reform

Informe de investigación

In the 1930s, when the Social Security expectancy is 76 years, and by 2020 it is expected to increase to 78 years. Also, during the baby-boom period, the average family had three children; from 1970-1990 that number had decreased to two children. Taken together, and without appropriate action, these demographic changes pose major challenges to the Social Security system and to the financial and retirement security of the Latino community.
