UnidosUS Welcomes Six New Member Organizations to its National Affiliate Network

February 24, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC—UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization, announced today the addition of six new Latino-serving organizations to its Affiliate Network of nearly 300 community-based organizations. UnidosUS Affiliates provide critical services and resources that support the well-being of millions of Latinos across the country.

The new community organizations joining the Affiliate Network include: Hispanic Alliance, in Greenville, South Carolina; Mountain Park Health Center, in Phoenix, Arizona; Metro West Community Development Organization, in Cleveland, Ohio; Multicultural Family Center, in Sherman, Texas; National Parents Union, in Malden, Massachusetts; and PF Bresee Foundation, in Los Angeles, California.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the UnidosUS Affiliate Network immediately became the trusted source of information and emergency services for more than eight million Latino households. Latinos have been among the first and hardest hit communities due to their overrepresentation in essential jobs and longstanding inequities in health care access and housing. As part of their response, these organizations pivoted to provide desperately needed food, cash assistance for utilities and rent, housing counseling, supports for learning at home, mental health services, information and access to public benefits and COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.

“The trials of this past year have demonstrated what we have known for over 50 years, that Latino community-based organizations are essential for millions of families across the country. UnidosUS is excited to continue to grow our network of Affiliates as a way to strengthen our collective efforts to see our Latino communities, and our country, through the recovery from the pandemic,” said Irene Cuyún, UnidosUS Deputy Vice President of Programs and Development.
